ALMOST 2,000 people have signed a petition to save Amberley Road allotments in Storrington from development, and campaigners hope to present the petition to Storrington and Sullington parish council tonight ( Wednesday).
Meanwhile campaigners hope that the result of the recent parish poll, about whether the allotment site should sold for £1million pound to developers, will be announced at the same meeting.

It was also revealed this week that documents from Parham estate, dated March 26 1976, show that the parish council at that time had agreed in writing that the Amberley Road site would never be used for anything other than allotments.

The council had also agreed there would be an ongoing veto to any authority seeking a change of use on the site.
