PARHAM House and gardens, near Storrington, celebrated the 60th anniversary of the house first opening to the public at the weekend.
The event stepped back in time to the 1948 opening and re-created the ambience, flavour, sights and sounds of the post-war era.

House guides were in period dress and the first 61 visitors to arrive were admitted at the 1948 original entry price – 2/6 for adults, 1/6 for children (12 pence for adults and eight pence for children).
