A SCOUT hut was razed to the ground when it caught fire last night.
Fire crews rushed to the hut in Herstmonceux at 1.36am to find it well alight.
Three appliances battled the blaze but the hut was destroyed.
An East Sussex Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said: "We went out at 1.36am to the scout hut. Three pumps from Hailsham and Battle went.
"Unfortunately the hut was completely destroyed."
It is not yet clear whether the ignition was arson or accidental but fire investigation crews and police attended the scene this morning (Saturday April 4).
