AN 80-year-old has spoken of her terrifying experience after her flat caught fire.
June Ansell, along with friend Derek Slade, was resuced from Henbane Court, Trefoil Crescent, Crawley, by firefighters.

Both were taken to East Surrey Hospital after suffering from smoke inhalation in the early hours of Wednesday.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated – although firefighters haven't ruled out the possibility of an overloaded socket.

It's thought that the flat had no working smoke alarm.
