Airport’s crucial community role

These are a few thoughts on this very important subject.

In addition to there being a need for more runway capacity in the Southeast people come to Crawley to work, live, shop and play so that the development of the Airport plays a crucial role in all of these. It is vital to the local economy to have a second runway at Gatwick Airport so that the revenue and employment it provides should be encouraged at all costs

Our home is on the land designated for the second runway and with great regret we will have to relocate. We are not planning to move away from the Crawley area because it is a thriving town with great prospects for success.

Henry Smith should be telling the Government, Crawley and West Sussex people that we are open for business and not beating the drum of the last century that is “not in my back yard”.
