In memory of music man Jack

Re: Jack Bewick. We asked Jack to be the President of Crawley Keyboard when it was formed in January 1988 by my late wife Margaret and myself.

Jack was the organist at the Majestic cinema in Reigate for a number of years in the 1960s.

The organ is now in Strumpshaw’s museum in Norfolk having been restored to working condition.

In 2001 a friend took Jack to the museum where he played the organ after a gap of around 40 years.

In India in 1946, while serving as a military police officer, Jack played piano with Spike Milligan on stage. in his early years Jack formed a small group known as the Rhythm Rascals.

When we learned that one of the Crawley Keyboard Club members had played saxophone in that group we were able to bring them together for the first time in many years.

On the same evening in 1989 we had Jack playing organ to accompany a silent film.
