Matchday parking - have your say at meeting

Successive Governments have preached more consultation. But what happens in Crawley? The Full Council meeting in the Town Hall on Wednesday attracted 6 residents.

A 30 minute slot was given over to questions, but only one was asked.

The West of Crawley County Local Committee met on Thursday. Another different 6 residents attended. Considerable time was allotted for questions but few spoke.

I hear complaints about the parking around the Broadfield Stadium on match days, almost all the time. The residents of Southgate had their say last month. Now it is Broadfield’s turn. The Crawley Town Travel Partnership Scrutiny Panel will meet on Thursday 27 November (7pm) at the Community Centre on the Barton to listen to you. It is expected that representatives of the Club will be present.

Your views do count. My request, together the Police and other County Councillors, for a parking ban on the A 23 on the grounds of safety was actioned by the County Council last month.

So Mr Editor, can I request that your readers break a habit of a lifetime, and come and actually have their say, and be listened to by those who can institute change.

For more details please contact Democratic Services at the Town Hall.
