Rushworth was club accountant at the Lincolnshire club and also
brokered the deal between Boston FC and holding company Lavaflow shortly before Reds' boss Steve Evans became manager.

But Evans insists the man who used to control the purse strings at his old club is simply an accountant who helped open Prospect Estates Holdings Ltd last week.

The Observer understands that Evans put Jarman in touch with Rushworth
after the SA Group set a Tuesday deadline to have rid of the club.

Evans said: "Phil Jarman was responsible for setting up a holding company for the shares and decided he didn't want to use previous accountants and asked us if we knew anybody who could form a base.

"He's (Justin) got nothing to do with it. He's got about 300 businesses that he's opened for people, that's what he does.

"People will find that Prospect Estates will be coming to Sussex in a few weeks and it's not going to be remaining in Boston."

He added: "Justin is just an accountant like any other accountant.

"There is no connection with Boston United."
