CRAWLEY Town romped to victory against Lewes on Tuesday night to get their first points in the Blue Square Premier this season.
Crawley went into the game without three strong players in Steve Fletcher, captain Chris Giles and Isaiah Rankin.

Jamie Cook was also struggling and sat the game out on the bench.

Crawley proved they had the strength in depth to deal with the injuries and goals by Jon-Paul Pittman, Danny Forrest and Simon Weatherstone sealed a dominant display by Steve Evans' men.

Unfortunately Crawley's new signing from Halifax, Adam Quinn, did not sign in time to play in Tuesday night's game.

And it was a much improved display compared to the Reds 1-0 defeat at home on Saturday afternoon.

The game started slowly but it was the Reds who looked more dangerous. Lewis Killeen and Danny Forrest played support roles to Jon-Paul Pittman with the Reds other natural strikers all out injured.

The first goal came virtually out of nothing. Pittman received the ball on the edge of the box and hit a low hard shot past Banks in the Lewes goal.

Straight from the kick-off Crawley doubled their lead. Pinault's precise chipped ball into back post found Danny Forrest who half volleyed the ball past the helpless Banks on 41 minutes.

More chances went begging for Crawley in the second half but Weatherstone wrapped things up with a superb finish from Pittman's touch and lay-off on the edge of the box.
