Eleven detained in Cowfold for immigration offences

ELEVEN men were detained by police in Cowfold today (Tuesday December 2)
Police were called at 10.49am following a report that a number of men were seen getting off the back of a lorry in the village.
The lorry travelled along the A272 towards Billingshurst, where it was subsequently stopped by a police patrol vehicle.
Several reports were then received from the public that men of Middle Eastern appearance were seen running across nearby fields.
A search was made of the area and 11 men were detained for immigration offences.
They were taken to Worthing and Crawley Custody Centres where they will be seen by immigration officials.
