THE TEENAGER accused of murdering Ricky Butler had been weird and 'creepy' all evening, said a girl who was at the party.

Richard Martin, 19, of Heath Way, Horsham, has denied murdering Ricky outside a flat in Gorringes Brook.

He also denies wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm to another teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons.

Today, one of the partygoers told the court that Martin had gatecrashed the party, and had spoiled the pleasant atmosphere for her.

"I felt like he was following me sometimes, it was really weird," said the girl, who also cannot be named, in a video interview.

"He was doing it to other girls as well.

"He came up to me and asked: 'Are you single?' and I just changed the subject really quickly and walked off."

Cross examined in court, she said he seemed slow and 'a bit stupid'.

David Fisher QC, defending Martin, asked: "He was unintelligent, and therefore a bit weird?"

She said: "Not necessarily, I've known unintelligent people, and I don't think they're a bit weird."

Martin denies murder. The trial continues at Lewes Crown Court.
