Three men have been arrested while a fourth is being hunted by police following a robbery at a jewellers in Lewes.
Four men broke into W E Clark & Son jewellers on Cliffe Bridge by smashing windows shortly before 3.30pm on Thursday.

A member of the public took the keys out of the ignition of the red Peugeot 307 estate they had arrived in.

After stealing large quantities of jewellery, the robbers fled down Cliffe High Street and into South Street where they were seen getting into a dark-coloured Ford Focus vehicle outside the Snowdrop pub.

The car was later seen by police who gave chase until it stopped by the Boship roundabout on the A22, near Hailsham.

The occupants attempted to escape on foot, but three men were arrested shortly afterwards and remain in custody. The fourth suspect has yet to be found.

Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen either of the cars or any part of the robbery to contact them on 0845 6070999, quoting Operation Sutton.
