IT WAS standing room only at Bewbush Primary as kids put on a dazzling
display of talent.
Dance, music, mime and comedy greeted parents and children last
Tuesday (July 8) as Year 6 youngsters gave it their all in an attempt to
claim the coveted prize.

But it wasn't just on stage that the children shone.

The entire event was organised by the kids, from lighting and sound to
choreographing the acts and coming up with their own material.

Year 6 teacher Julie Taylor who, along with her colleague Viv Moore, came up with the original idea said that the philosophy behind the show
was to give every child a chance to perform.

She added: "We decided to do a talent show to give every child an opportunity to shine, rather than a play with just a couple of leading roles.

"Last night was an absolutely packed house, we put 120 chairs out and there were still people standing.

"And the atmosphere was fantastic, there were some very supportive parents who thoroughly enjoyed seeing their children take part."

And as a special treat for the kids, headteacher Gillian Miles gave a
surprise Freddy Mercury rendition of 'Don't Stop Me Now', which had the
kids screaming with delight.
