A HENFIELD man has been crushed to death by a crane at a Milton Keynes marina.

Donald Preston, 62, from West End Lane, was helping to dismantle a boatyard crane at Willlowbridge Marina, Stoke Road, just south of Bletchley, when the incident occurred.

Police were alerted to an industrial accident at about 1.30pm on Wednesday, July 23, after reports that a man was trapped under a crane. Paramedics also attended and Mr Preston was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokeswoman for Thames Valley Police said: "Officers attended the scene to assist other emergency services at the scene and the Health and Safety Executive.

"The Health and Safety Executive are now leading the investigation."
