A new tourist attraction has proved such a success in its first month that two local charities are to benefit by £1,000.
The South Downs Heritage Centre at Hassocks has seen a stream of visitors since opening its doors.
Instead of charging for admission, visitors have been asked for donations towards nominated charities.
South Downs Nurseries owner Jonathan Tate said: "We've had such an incredible opening month that already we can give £1,000 to our charities."
The two charities to benefit are the Hurstpierpoint-based Shine Theatre Trust and Burgess Hill District Lions. Each received a £500 cheque from the Heritage Centre to support local work.
