The consultation finished on April 30 and Mid Sussex District Council is now working on revealing its findings in the summer.
The draft proposals cover dog fouling, keeping dogs on a lead, excluding dogs from areas and having a maximum number of dogs per person.
Proposals include dog exclusion zones at St John's Park in Burgess Hill, Hickmans Lane Recreation Ground in Lindfield, Lindfield Common, Scaynes Hill Recreation Ground, and Turners Hill Recreation Ground.
David Harper, senior leisure facility manager at the council, said: "The level of response from residents has been excellent.
"We have received hundreds of comments and suggestions from the public on how they would like to see dog control measures applied to Mid Sussex.
"It is now up to us to incorporate the feedback we have received. Council officers will carefully consider the public responses over the coming months before drawing up a series of recommendations that will be presented to council in the summer."
