COPS are still quizzing three men in connection with an armed robbery and high speed car chase that brought Crawley to a standstill yesterday.

The trio are said to be 'helping police with their enquiries' after armed robbers held up the BP garage in Gossops Green, ploughed a car into train barriers and boarded a bus.

Witnesses to the high speed chase have already sent in some footage of yesterday's action - including the evacuation of St Wilfrid's school.

If you filmed the car chase or even the raid call the newsdesk on (01293) 845055 or email matthew.gaw@sussexnewspapers.co.uk.

Samantha Jouan:

My Son Joshua goes to st wilfreds and it's scarey to think that I can't even let him go to the BP garage anymore for fear of there being armed robbers in there.
It's scarey for us and for the kids and what is the world coming to when you have to protect your kids from even buying sweets !!!

You don't want to put the fear of god in to them but you have to explain the dangers in life.

What is our world coming to.

I'm just wondering why the school was evacuated at all? wouldn't that be exposing the children to the danger more than if they were securely placed within the school itself?

Just a thought...
