Staff at St Wilfrid's School had to evacuate their building after police reported armed robbers were in the area.
The school in Old Horsham Road sounded the fire alarm to get all children out of lessons and to a safe point until the drama was over.

Head teacher Jonathan Morris said: "All the students were outside for break time when we got word form the police that there had been an incident.

"I decided to get the whole school together in the same way that we would for a fire alarm.

"Shortly after that the police gave us the all clear and we went back to normal."
