Crawley MP Henry Smith has met with Sir Roger Bone, chief executive of Boeing UK, at the Foreign Office to discuss UK defence contracts.
Mr Smith said: "Boeing is a major employer and driver of technological advances based here in Crawley and I was very happy to meet with senior management of Boeing to see how the industry can be developed further for the good of the UK defence and the UK economy. Boeing is a powerful asset to an increasingly influential Gatwick Diamond economic area."

Boeing has historically spent around $1billion with UK suppliers annually, contributing to local economies and providing employment.

The Chinook Programs generated more than £65 million in UK Supplier Orders in 2009.
