CLOSE encounters that put the creepy into Crawley were among details of thousands of UFO sightings recently released by the Ministry of Defence.
The most impressive of the Crawley ET experiences happened on March 21 1997 at 10.31pm when a spooked couple reported an extremely odd object in the sky.
On September 7 2007 at 9.47pm, a cluster of green, red and orange lights were reported.
One final report, from October 23 200 simply stated '7.04pm, a UFO'.
