BUILDING firm Taylor Wimpey is closing down its offices in Crawley as the firm sheds more than 600 jobs nationwide.
The Crawley Bryant South East office is one of 13 offices across the country that are to be shut, with bosses blaming a 'slowing' housing market.

Staff were told by email on Monday that they would be out of work by September.

Chief executive Peter Redfern said they were acting now to end 'uncertainty' for employees.

He said: "Our experience in the US and historically in the UK is that when housing markets slow, those that react most quickly and decisively become stronger businesses, and provide the most secure and positive environment for their continuing staff."

It's not yet known how many people in Crawley will lose their jobs.
