A knife found today (March 18) in Selham Close, Ifield, is one of a number of knives which have been recovered by, or handed in to Crawley Police, following the stabbing of a teenager.
The knives were handed in after detectives made a local appeal last week for residents to be vigilant and to check their gardens,

DI Nick May said: "We are still seeking the weapon used in the stabbing of the 16 year old boy last week.

"I would thank all the members of the community who have provided information to the police, and would urge people in the Ifield area in particular to immediately phone police if they do find a knife in their garden, or on waste land in the area. Do not touch it, and we will ensure we get to you quickly and deal with it."

At this stage, Police cannot confirm whether or not any of the items, which are now in police possession, are the weapon used in the incident on Monday March 10 in Fitchett Close, Langley Green. Extensive forensic tests will be carried out on all knives recovered.

Crawley Police can be contacted on 0845 60 70 999 quoting Operation Kinsale.
