MURDER LATEST: Man in court

A 40-year-old man has appeared at Crawley Magistrates' Court accused of murder.
Martin James Garratty, 40, was arrested by police after they found the body of a woman at a flat in Godwin Court, Horsham, just before midnight on Saturday.

A post mortem examination revealed she died as a result of head and chest injuries.

Garratty, also of Godwin Court, spoke only to confirm his name.
He was remanded into custody until his next court appearance.

No application for bail was made.
