A MAN was thrown from his push bike after being involved in a smash with a catering truck at Gatwick Airport yesterday afternoon (Thursday).
The accident happened at 2.30pm and crews from Gatwick fire station and Horley were first on the scene.

Firefighters from Gatwick administered first aid to the man while a small crowd of onlookers gathered.

The smash happened at the junction of Perimeter Road East and Perimeter Road South near the Beehive roundabout.

The severity of the man's injuries are not yet know but paramedics rushed the casualty to East Surrey Hospital.

The lorry driver was uninjured in the collision.

A spokeswoman for Gatwick Police said: "We received a call at 2.18pm this afternoon after a road traffic accident at the junction of Perimeter Road South and Perimeter Road East.

"There were some road closures at the time to allow for treatment and removal of the moped."
