FORMER Jam front man Paul Weller is to make his long awaited return to Crawley this November playing at leisure centre K2.
It is the first rock concert to be held at the sports arena since it opened in 2005 and council officials are hoping it will herald a new era of rock concerts in town.

Weller is no stranger to Crawley after playing with the Style Council and The Jam at the old leisure centre in the early 1980s.

Head of Arts at Crawley council, Kevin Eason, said: "We are really excited about this because we know K2 has a lot to offer.

"It's a fantastic act to have on for the first one and we hope it will put us back on the map for music gigs."

Around 3,400 fans can squeeze into the venue which is expected to be the town's music highlight of the year.

Previous acts which performed at Crawley's old leisure centre in Haslett Avenue include The Clash, Echo and The Bunnyman, Madness, The Hollies and Roy Orbison.

Paul will be rocking K2 on Thursday, November 6.

Tickets priced £30 go on sale tomorrow and can purchased online at www.bookingsdirect.com or by calling (01293) 553636.
