Police are appealing to the public for information after a woman was found laying injured in a lay-by in Crawley.

The 18-year-old was found by police in London Road, near County Oak Retail Park, at 11.50pm on Monday (2 June).

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: she was taken to hospital for treatment to a cut on her head and fractured ribs.

Acting Detective Sergeant Daniel Gower said: “The woman has received medical treatment and has been discharged from hospital.

“We would like to speak to anyone who might have been in the area at the time and be able to provide clarity as to what happened that night.

“Anyone with information is asked to call 101 or email quoting serial 1738 of 2/6”
