Armed police take part in Crawley drugs search

Armed police took part in a search at a house in Pound Hill as officers investigated possible drugs offences.

The search followed the arrest of a 26-year-old man on Wednesday evening (February 26), who was stopped while driving on the A23.

Suspected Class A drugs were found during a search of his vehicle, said police.

A second man, aged 18, was arrested at an address in Worth Road, where cash was recovered.

The investigation is ongoing and both men are being questioned by police.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “Armed police officers were present as part of the operation purely as a precaution, but no shots were fired and no weapons were seized by police.”
