A school has closed after a water pipe burst and flooded several of its classrooms and corridors with two inches of water.
Firefighters were called to Hilltop Primary School in Ditchling Hill, Southgate, at 7.25am today (Thursday September 4).
Officer-in-charge Chris Barker said: “I’d say that was the largest flood I’d been to on a school premises.
“The cold water was a high pressure main, it was squirting at some rate of knots.
“I believe it might’ve been going on for some hours.”
A statement on the school’s website said: “Unfortunately Hilltop is closed today due to a water problem.”
