A Crawley business group has urged firms to join so they can vote on its projects in Manor Royal.

Only registered members of Manor Royal Business Improvement District (BID) will be able to attend and vote on how its levy is invested at its second AGM on September 30.

Chief executive Steve Sawyer said: “The Manor Royal BID is approaching the half way point of its first five year term and many of our capital projects are now being delivered.

“But it’s only registered members of the BID company that can vote and determine how the BID levy is invested.

“It is a free and straightforward process to become a member of the company and I would encourage all levy-paying companies to make sure they don’t miss out on having their say.”

He said the BID’s works were informed by an agreed business plan which member companies voted for.

Progress against the plan will be discussed and accounted for at the AGM.

Mr Sawyer added: “The BID’s success at working with other key partners and attracting additional investment to the area has been central to a number of initiatives designed to improve the trading and working environment across the Business District.

“As well as reflecting on year two of the Manor Royal BID, attendees at the AGM will hear from the chairman and about plans for year three. An announcement will also be made concerning one of the BID’s major projects.”

Businesses can register to become a member of MRBD Limited by contacting the BID office on info@manorroyal.org. Details may also be found on the Manor Royal website, along with the AGM agenda and minutes of last year’s meeting.
