More than 100 apprenticeship jobs are expected to be on offer at a fair in Crawley.

The borough and county council-backed event takes place at the Civic Hall, The Boulevard, between 2pm and 4pm on Tuesday, January 19.

Councillor Peter Lamb, Leader of Crawley Borough Council, said: “I’m delighted that we are hosting the Apprenticeship Job Fair for a fourth time. The previous three events were very successful, matching up applicants with training and job opportunities, so if you’ve recently left education, looking for a new challenge or an apprenticeship in the future come along.”

Louise Goldsmith, Leader of West Sussex County Council, said: “I would encourage anyone looking for a new career to take this opportunity to meet with local employers. Apprenticeships provide valuable practical experience and great opportunities for training and further qualifications.”

A borough council spokesman said the event aimed to match those looking for employment with training with employers looking to recruit their future workforce.

The spokesman added: “With vacancies across the central Sussex area and in a wide range of industries including construction, hospitality, business, childcare, care and engineering, there promises to be something for everyone on the day.

“Young people who have recently left school or college or are considering a new career or fresh start are particularly welcome to attend to explore the paid apprenticeship options and traineeship opportunities open to them at the event, which will see a number of training providers offering jobs with local employers.”
