Proposals for Principal Park to go on display

PROPOSALS for the 30-acre Principal Park redevelopment will be on public display this Saturday (January 28).

Exton Estates, the developer for the former GlaxoSmithKline site in Manor Royal, and LaSalle Investment Management are inviting the community to view and comment on the outline business park proposals. Demolition of the site has already begun which will make way for an employment park and business hub.

This may include a hotel, car dealership, convenience store, self storage, warehouse and industrial space, and restaurant or drive-through

The proposals will be displayed at St Paul’s Methodist Church, Woodfield Road, Northgate, between noon and 5pm.

James Mawson of Exton Estates said: “We are looking forward to meeting with the local community and talking them through our exciting proposals, which will bring jobs back to Crawley’s key business zone.

“We are keen to receive their feedback and this will be carefully considered before we submit an outline planning application in early spring.”

Mr Mawson also said the scheme would look to compliment existing neighbourly uses while also attracting investment back into the area following GSK’s exit.

A dedicated project website will also be launched on the day of the exhibition www.principalpark.co.uk where people can view all the information and send comments;

LaSalle Investment Management purchased the site for £9million in September in what the firm has described a s “the largest land purchase in the south east this year”.
