Cigarettes worth £1,500 stolen from Co-op delivery lorry

Thieves stole cigarettes worth £1,500 from a delivery lorry in Crawley.

Sussex Police said the lorry was in Balcombe Road, on its way to a Co-op store in Maidenbower, when the lorry was broken into.

The theft happened on Friday (June 6) between 12.30pm and 1.05pm but was not reported until the next day (June 7).

Officers have not said if they are linking the theft to a similar incident which took place on May 13, when £3,600 worth of cigarettes were stolen from a lorry delivering to the Co-op store in Ifield Road.

Witnesses or anyone with information about the Balcombe Road theft should contact Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial 0935 of 07/06.
