Crawley Town captain Joe Walsh is set to join MK Dons after having a medical with the League One club.
Reds boss Dean Saunders broke the news in his post-match press conference this afternoon.
The defender, who served the last of his three-match ban today, has less than six months left on his contract at the Checkatrade.com Stadium and has been repeatedly linked with a move away from Reds.
Saunders expects the centre-back to pen a deal with MK Dons imminently, but stressed he had no idea of the agreed fee.
When asked whether Walsh’s return from suspension would pose a selection problem, Saunders said: “Why has it fallen through? You’re not up to date.
“He has had a medical. We are disappointed to lose him but he is a good lad and we wish him well.
“He has a big career ahead of him and he’s Welsh as well so I’m looking forward to seeing how his career develops.
“I don’t know what the fee is to be honest, we had a feeling something might happen.
“I didn’t know. I think he’s had the medical but I don’t know whether he’s signed yet or not, it maybe some point today.”
“He has not played for three games, we have won two and drawn with and we have to move on, but good luck to him.
“I always like to see young lads go on and do well. I will be watching his career and maybe he has learnt a little bit off me in the short period I have had with him.”
