People dressed as gorillas carried a Big Banana from Tilgate Park to the Eiffel Tower.

Staff from forest adventure firm Go Ape’s Crawley site took part in its Big Banana Relay in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust on Saturday (June 21).

Site manager, Mark Elliot, 40, and his colleague, Paul Freija, 35, dressed as gorillas and took the large banana up the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France.

The pair then took the Eurostar and handed the banana over to their colleagues in Buckinghamshire.

The firm selected the Teenage Cancer Trust as its main charity for 2014.

The teams were asked to use ‘quirky’ forms of transport to carry the banana over 1823 miles across the UK.

The relay started in Leeds on June 14.
