A Crawley off licence is to have its premises licence reviewed after police said alcohol was sold to children.

Sussex Police has applied to Crawley Borough Council after conducting two test purchases at West Sussex Wines, of Ifield Drive, Ifield.

A public notice published today (March 13) said the application for the review had been made on the grounds of preventing crime and disorder and protecting children from harm.

The notice read: “It is contended that the above mentioned licensing objectives have been undermined at West Sussex Wines of 198 Ifield Drive following the failed test purchase operations conducted by Sussex Police on two separate occasions; Thursday 13th November 2014 and Wednesday 11th February 2015 whereby alcohol was sold to children.”
