A Santa Run to raise money for a Crawley hospice is taking place next month (Sunday October 22).

Starting at 10am at the K2 Leisure Centre, runners will be given a free Santa suit while children under six will be given a free Santa hat.

Runners can take part in a 2Km route around K2 or a 5Km off-track route to raise funds for St Catherine’s Hospice, which provides end of life care to terminally ill patients.

Michaela Clements, events fundraiser at St. Catherine’s, said: “Last year over 300 Crawley runners donned a Santa suit to support vital hospice care for terminally ill patients and their families across Sussex and Surrey.

“By taking part in this year’s Crawley Santa Run you’ll be helping us make the festive season as comfortable as possible for our patients.

“Each year, it costs £180,000 to provide our care over the 12 days of Christmas.

“With your support, we can help patients and family make what may be their last Christmas together memorable and continue to be there when they need us most.”

There will also be stalls, including volunteer Shirley Stow’s Christmas craft stand.

Early bird pre-event registration (before Friday October 30) will cost £10 for adults, £5 for children under 16 and £25 for a family of four.

From Saturday (October 31) registration is £13 for adults, £8 for children under 16 and £30 for a family of four, however on the day entrants will also be welcome.

St Catherine’s Hospice also cares for Crawley residents in the comfort of their own homes.
