Three schools have been rewarded for promoting healthy living among their pupils after encouraging them to walk to school or ride a bike or scooter.

Milton Mount School, in Pound Hill, and Waterfield, in Bewbush, were presented with silver Sustrans School Mark awards by mayor Brenda Smith, while Gossops Green Primary received the bronze award. Bike It champions from each school organised Bike It Breakfasts and Bike Clubs, with advice and guidance from the charity Sustrans. Janet Morris, Bike It Champion for Milton Mount, said: “We are delighted to receive our Silver Award. The children have enjoyed our various cycling events especially our Sports Relief Mile which they completed by cycling or scootering laps of the playground. We are now looking forward to going for gold.”
