The group is made up of teams from League One, League Two and a high-profile academy side.

The academy sides that Reds could have been drawn against were Brighton & Hove Albion, Norwich City, Southampton and West Bromwich Albion.

They missed out on the chance to play Chelsea, Reading, Swansea City and West Ham, who were placed in section one of the South draw.

Teams will play each other once in the group stage with dates to be confirmed.
