Manager John Gregory said: “We were keen to keep Mat as Ryan Dickson is still a couple of weeks away from being fit. He has fitted in really well which was no surprise because he knows the club well and I must thank (Rotherham manager) Steve Evans for agreeing to our request to let him stay with us.”

Sadler left the Checkatrade.com Stadium last summer after two seasons at the club when he played in every league game.

He returned for a second spell in September and played in seven league and cup games before his initial one-month loan ended on Saturday.

Mat will be staying until November 11 but will not be eligible to play for Crawley in the FA Cup that weekend.
