A man has been jailed for six years after he admitted causing death by dangerous driving.

Kyle Witney, 21, of Finches Lane, Lindfield, was sentenced at Hove Trial Centre today (Friday January 15).

Witney, who was also banned from driving for seven years, had pleaded guilty to two counts of causing death by dangerous driving.

The court heard that his passengers Matthew Preece, 21, from Lindfield, and Marc Martin, 22, from Haywards Heath, were both fatally injured in the crash.

They had been sitting in the back of Witney’s BMW when it left the road and hit a tree in High Beeches Lane, Handcross, around 10pm on December 17, 2014.
