Police seeking a woman who stole an expensive violin on a Gatwick Express train have released a CCTV image.

On Friday March 24, police said a woman boarded a 6.30am train from London Victoria to Brighton and when she got off at Gatwick Airport she realised her violin was no longer on the overhead rack.

The violin is a Matteo Goffriller 1700 and was in a dark red case, police added.

Officers would like to speak to the woman shown in the CCTV image as she may have information which could help with the investigation.
