A man has been charged with burglary after computer tablets worth £12,000 were stolen from Crawley Currys PC World.

A police spokesman said Ashley Warren, 26, unemployed, of Crawley Road, Horsham, appeared in custody at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on Saturday (March 27).

He was remanded in custody to appear at Lewes Crown Court on April 22.

Police appealed for witnesses after the break-in at Currys PC World in County Oak Retail Park just after midnight on Tuesday, March 22.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “Officers, dog handlers and the police helicopter carried out a search of the area but the suspects were lost sight of.

“It is believed they made off towards the Langley Green area. A number of computer tablets worth more than £12,000 were stolen, but some have been recovered near the scene.”
