A man has been arrested following a spate of shoplifting in Crawley, a local traders’ group has said.
Crawley and Gatwick Business Watch, which works with members of the business community to reduce crime, said over the last couple of weeks a man had been linked to a series of shoplifting incidents at various retailers in the town centre.
A spokesman said: “Some of the stores known to have been targeted were Boots, Debenhams, TK Maxx, DW Sports, Perfume Store, and Fragrance Shop. “On many occasions the value (of stolen goods) exceeded over £100 a time.”
On Friday, July 15, police arrested a man in County Mall shopping centre, the spokesman added.
