Police appeal after cigarettes worth £3,600 stolen from Crawley Co-Op delivery lorry

Police have issued a witness appeal after around £3,600 worth of cigarettes was stolen from the back of a lorry.

Sussex Police said the theft took place during a delivery at the Co-Op store in Ifield Parade at around 6pm on Tuesday last week (May 13).

A man was seen fleeing with a large bag after opening the rear of the lorry as it was reversing. He was wearing a red vest and black hat.

He was described as white, approximately 25-years-old, 6ft tall and of average build.

PC Thomas Mooney said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who has information or may recognise the thief, who we believe is local.
