Police appeal after dog walker head-butted

A dog walker was head-butted by another dog walker in Tilgate Park, Crawley.

The victim was walking his dog and throwing a stick into the lake for the dog to fetch when another dog jumped into the lake chasing after the same stick on October 30 at around 9.25am, police revealed today (Monday November 12).

An altercation ensued between the dog owners resulting in the victim being threatened and headbutted on the nose before the attacker ran off.

PC Benjamin Easton from Crawley Response Investigation Team said: “The dog walker was very shaken from the attack and we are appealing for anyone who has information and has not yet come forward, to please get in touch. I am hoping that other dog walkers may have witnessed the incident or know who the suspect is. You can call 101 quoting serial 0371 of 30/10 or leave a message anonymously with the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

The attacker, who was walking a large black dog, was described as white, 28 to 42, 6’ 2”, of large stocky build with black spiky hair and a freckly face.

He was clean shaven, spoke with a southern accent and was wearing blue jeans, white trainers and an off-white short sleeve T-shirt at the time.
