Police link thefts of tools from five vans


Sussex Police are linking five thefts which saw hundreds of pounds of tools stolen from vans in one night.

The thefts all took place in West Green overnight on Friday (May 30) – two in Albany Road, two in Ifield Road and one in Mendip Walk.

In Ifield Road, a saw, planer, chop saw, large battery and charger, jigsaw, angle grinder, set of drills and nail gun were taken from a white Ford transit between 7pm on May 29 and 6.15am on May 30.

The serial number for this crime is 0230 of 30/5.

A number of cordless drills and a power saw were taken from a green VW Transporter van. Serial number 0257 of 30/5.

A petrol disc cutter was stolen from a white Renault Kangoo van in Albany Road, while various hand held drills, a multi drill and electric plane plasters’ whisk were taken from a black Mitsubishi L200 in the same street.

The serial numbers for these crimes are 0233 of 30/5 and 0323 of 30/5 respectively.

In Mendip Walk, a jgsaw, air drill set, hammer drill and nail gun were stolen from a Ford Transit van between 10.15pm on May 29 and 6.50am on May 30. The serial number is 0248 of 30/5.
