Robber punches man in the face and steals bike


Police are appealing for witnesses after an 18-year-old man was robbed of his bike in Langley Green, Crawley.

The victim was walking with his bike along Stagelands towards Langley Gren parade when he was approached by four men outside the Lea Croft Medical Practice.

One of the men grabbed his bike and another man demanded his mobile phone, which he did not have on him.

He was punched once in the face but did not suffer any injuries during the attack on Monday (January 6) at around 9.20pm.

Detective constable Dan Richardson said: “The stolen bicycle is described as a red moutain bike made by Silver and has silver duck tape fixed to the front light bracket. The suspects are described as aged in their early teens, wearing tracksuits and hooded tops.

“Anyone with information on this assault please contact Sussex Police on 101 or email quoting serial 1395 of 6/1. Alternatively contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
