Two 17-year-old boys were arrested after a skip was set alight.

A spokesman for Surrey Police said officers were called to the scene in Albert Road, Horley, at around 1.30am today (Tuesday July 29).

The boys, both from Horley, were arrested in connection with the fire, which the spokesman said was started deliberately.

Reigate and Banstead Neighbourhood Sergeant Dan Gutierrez, said: “This fire is not believed to be connected to the recent spate of arson offences in the Reigate and Banstead borough.

“I hope the swift arrest of two people in connection with this offence goes some way to reassure the public that all incidents of this nature are taken extremely seriously and suspects will be dealt with robustly.”
