Sussex Police said a ‘disturbance’, involving several people, was reported at the junction of Rona Close and Lismore Crescent at about 10pm on Monday, May 25.
Witnesses have suggested that a vehicle was damaged and that at least one person may have been assaulted during the argument, said police.
One man is then believed to have been forced or helped into a silver car, possibly a BMW, which then drove off.
Detective Inspector Andy Bennett said: “Despite making extensive inquiries we have not yet managed to trace any of those who were involved in the incident.
“We don’t know whether the man who was put into the car was forced or helped which is why we need to identify who he is. We need to make contact with him to make sure that he is OK.
“A number of people have come forward but we are still anxious to trace those people that were involved in the disturbance. If you were one of them or have any idea who they were, please contact us.”
