A discount card for families with children with special educational needs and disabilities is to be launched by West Sussex County Council.
The card will provide offers and money off deals and will help families find local activities which are disability-friendly.
The scheme will enable the county council to compile a disability register to provide a comprehensive picture of the needs and disabilities of children and young people within the county and will help with planning what services are needed.
Cllr Peter Evans, cabinet member for children – start of life, said: “The card is a win-win situation. Not only will families have more opportunities to access fun activities, it will also give us valuable information about their needs. Similar cards in other areas have shown that families can save more than £600 if they use the discount card regularly.”
It’s hoped the card will be launched by the end of 2015.
